When Your Inner Voice Becomes Your Greatest Opponent

When Your Inner Voice Becomes Your Greatest Opponent

Fighting The War Within Yourself

Have you ever fought with your internal self? Have you ever wondered when your dreams will come to pass? We know what we need to do, yet we don't do it. We're waiting for the perfect moment. But, how about if your moment is now? We don't tend to recognize when our moment arrived. That's what happened to me.

Knowing What To Do - But Waiting Anyway

Time flies. We see our goals and dreams so far away, but we are not paying attention. Time is moving so fast, we might miss the mark. This is such a scary thought.

In this blog, I share so many stories that happened to me so that you know that there are people out there that also go through similar situations as we do. I am no exception.

Waiting For The “Perfect Moment” That Never Comes

During my academic life, I had a professor telling me I was “missing the mark” of a school assignment. But that particular phrase really hit deep on my soul. I internally screamed I didn't want to miss the mark. I wasn't referring to the actual class, a lot of us are “missing the mark” spiritually. This should be a concern for all of us.

In this blog post, I'm sharing what one Pinterest pin revealed to me regarding selling myself short and led to the inner thought of “missing the mark.”

What If Your Moment Is Now?

We tend to spend most of our time mindlessly scrolling social media or any other platform. Let's say…Pinterest.

We are seeking inspiration that turns hours to either forget the problems surrounding us, the fear that constantly knocks on our door, or the boredom that embraces us. Either situation, it's a numbing situation that needs to be addressed because there's so much to do in this life.

Let's also mention the ever-growing TikTok. Sounds like a clock, doesn't it? It's so strategic. Time wasters. Why do you think we often connect on this platform? To let time pass by that we don't recognize or are even aware of what is surrounding us. This is numbing not only our minds and hearts, but also our spirit.

We no longer want to focus on things that truly help us grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and most importantly, spiritually.

Not Recognizing When The Door Opens

Do you know why most of our goals and dreams don't happen? Because we focus on the wrong things. Scrolling without a purpose or intention, is a waste of time.

Ephesians 5:16 “Making the best use of time, because the days are evil.”

Have you ever asked yourself, where did the time go? If you have asked yourself this, meditate on the question. Something is wrong.

Life is passing you by, and it is in these moments, that we will begin complaining and making a list of regrets to share when we get old.

Time Is Moving Faster Than We Realize

When Dreams Feel Farther Away Than They Really Are

God has a purpose for our lives, and if you don't know what that is, I suggest you read the Bible here. That should be the number one Book to read to find answers to our questions. In the beginning of this blog post, I shared about my academic life. During this time, I felt like achieving this diploma was very far from obtaining it. But then this happened.

Graduation showed up.

All I kept asking during that time was, “What's happening?” I couldn't grasp that the period of waiting was over. Friends, that's how the time when Jesus will return to get His church. In a blink of an eye. Honestly, we are NOT ready for that moment. It is very near.

We are missing the mark, the point of why we're here on earth.

A Quiet Revelation From An Unexpected Place

What One Pinterest Pin Revealed to Me

Let me share a quick story: I was looking for inspiration from Pinterest and I saw something I've always wanted to do. I have to confess that I have an entrepreneurial heart. There are times that it takes me longer than most to execute an idea. My mind operates differently than most people. But that idea, I finally saw it on Pinterest.

The exact same idea.

Then I was internally speaking to myself and I said, “WOW, this person executed exactly the idea I had in mind, and because of fear, I didn't do it?” You may be asking yourself, “what kind of fear?”

We all experience certain kinds of fear, and this is real.

This is where fear paralyzes us. We never go after our dreams. We never put into practice what God has called us to do. This person started something I've always wanted to do, she is receiving great feedback from her customers. This is working for her. It could've been me!

Let me be clear that I'm not comparing myself with her. What I'm saying here is that all the doubts that enter our minds are causing us not to move ahead. God called us to do something but we are not making it happen due to fear.

Fear of rejection.

Fear of what people may say.

Fear of trying something new.

Fear of failure.

I just had these thoughts as to why I didn't start that thing. I could have never known if it was going to work or not if I never tried. Which I didn't.

Realizing I Had Been Selling Myself Short

That one Pinterest pin caused two things within me:

Realized I sold myself short
Realized I almost missed the mark

When we sell ourselves short, we don't believe that what we want will work. This happens when we don't believe we can get it done. And because I didn't give it a go, I missed the mark of the potential of seeing it flourish.

Let me share this with you.

We often sell ourselves short because God is NOT in the project.

“In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success” (Proverbs 3:6, TLB)

Finally, one thing we don't want to experience is missing the mark. What does missing the mark mean? Read it here 👇

“Some of these people have missed the most important thing in life - THEY DON'T KNOW GOD. May God's mercy be upon you…” (1 Timothy 6:21, TLB).

Let this not be us.
